Created in 2003 as a not-for-profit 501 c-(3) tax exempt organization, The Illinois Association of Fire Protection Districts Foundation is an educational and charitable fund organized for the purpose of advancing the Illinois fire service through fire protection district trustees, administrators and personnel who provide emergency services to the citizens of Illinois.
The Foundation’s Scholarship Program is available to support programs that educate the general public on fire prevention and safety, conduct research in the field and provide proper training and equipment to adequately serve the Illinois fire service. The IAFPD Foundation provides scholarships for fire training programs, firefighters, EMTs, and even grants for trustees to attend the IAFPD Conference. The program is funded completely by friends and supporters of this 501(c)3!
