Our Objectives
Established in 2003 as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, the IAFPD Foundation is dedicated to strengthening fire prevention, education, research, and professional development throughout Illinois.
Our objectives are to:
- Promote Fire Prevention and Safety — Educate the public about fire prevention, preparedness, and safety.
- Support Education and Scholarships — Establish and maintain scholarship opportunities that encourage students to pursue careers and education in fire science and related fields in Illinois.
- Advance Fire Science Research — Support and encourage research that advances knowledge, innovation, and best practices in fire science.
- Strengthen the Illinois Fire Service — Help ensure fire service administrators and personnel have access to the training, education, and equipment needed to effectively protect and serve the citizens of Illinois.
Through these efforts, the IAFPD Foundation works to build a safer Illinois and support the dedicated professionals who protect our communities.
Investing in Our Fire Service Communities
Through our fundraising efforts, we have awarded scholarships and provided financial support to college students, firefighters, fire officers, and EMS providers throughout Illinois.
We are proud to partner with organizations and support programs that make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who serve our communities. A few of our longstanding partnerships and contributions include:
- IFCA Research & Education Foundation — More than $20,000 since 2013
- Illinois Fire Safety Alliance Burn Camp — More than $7,000 since 2013
- Illinois Fire Service Institute — More than $16,000 since 2008
- Western Illinois University — More than $12,000 since 2012
These contributions reflect our commitment to education, professional development, and supporting the next generation of Illinois fire and EMS professionals. Through the generosity of our supporters, we are helping provide opportunities, resources, and meaningful support to those who dedicate their lives to serving others.
