The mission of the IAFPD is to provide high-quality educational opportunities that support you in carrying out the responsibilities of your role within your Fire Protection District.
Essential Trustee Training (ETT)
This comprehensive 12-hour program is presented in three parts and provides a complete curriculum covering the administrative duties and legal responsibilities of Fire Protection District Boards of Trustees.
Continuing Trustee Education (CTE)
These one-day programs are held across the state and online throughout the year. CTE sessions provide members with legal updates on recent legislation, the Open Meetings Act (OMA) and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requirements, as well as agency updates from IFSI and the OSFM. Each CTE program fulfills the three-hour continuing education requirement in compliance with PA 95-0799.
Annual Conference
The Annual Conference brings together education, exhibits, and special events for a weekend of learning and networking. Educational programs are selected to reflect the evolving responsibilities of Fire Protection Districts and their officials and are designed for trustees, chiefs, and district personnel. The conference also offers ample opportunities to earn Continuing Education credits for those who have completed the three-part Essential Trustee Training, with sessions tailored to member needs.
Online Programs
Our online education platform delivers training directly to you, allowing you to earn Continuing Education credits at your convenience. Whether you are refreshing knowledge gained in previous sessions or pursuing additional CE hours, this affordable and flexible option is designed to meet your needs.
