COVID-19 Cost Recovery for Fire and EMS
These unprecedented times have challenged Fire and EMS agencies to respond to the challenges from COVID-19. With these challenges come financial strain, the increased need for personnel, facilities, equipment, supplies and apparatus utilization. Due to the Presidential Declaration of Disaster, Fire and EMS agencies are eligible for reimbursement through the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Public Assistance Program.
These unprecedented times have challenged Fire and EMS agencies to respond to the challenges from COVID-19. With these challenges come financial strain, the increased need for personnel, facilities, equipment, supplies and apparatus utilization. Due to the Presidential Declaration of Disaster, Fire and EMS agencies are eligible for reimbursement through the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Public Assistance Program.
The Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission has issued an emergency amendment, bringing clarity to workers' compensation coverage for first responders with regards to the COVID-19 virus. Read the amendment.
