The Illinois Fire Protection Districts invites its members to serve as an Area Representative of the organization.

The duties of an Area Rep generally involve the following:
The IAFPD asks that Area Representatives promote the activities of the association and serve as the first contact between fire districts and the IAFPD. Area Representatives are asked to become acquainted with local, regional and state legislative officials who may have an impact on fire district activities. An IAFPD Area Representatives acts as an ambassador of the association by attending meetings of local interest groups who are attempting to form new fire protection districts.
The IAFPD reimburses expenses as they occur and are approved.
The qualifications for this position are as follows:
Interested persons willing to serve the Illinois Association of Fire Protection Districts
that meet the above criteria will be interviewed by a committee designated by the IAFPD Board of Directors.
Becoming an Area Representative for the IAFPD is another step to improving the
quality of fire protection services in your home district as well as all districts in the
State of Illinois.

Committee Chairman and General Committee Description
Ken Yeakley - Schedule, topics, recruit speakers/keynotes, arrange demos and entertainment
Brett P. Kunkel - Vendor hospitality, tradeshow assistance, solicit new vendors/sponsorship
Ken Yeakley - Coordinate administrative training programs and fall workshops
Bonnie Bayser - Represent the fire protection districts in the EMS community within Illinois
Tom Harnsberger - Develop legislative platform, review, alert and act on pending bills
Paul Grzelak - Fire Call articles, columns and cover images. Promote use of other printed resources
Marvin Hill - Develop news releases, encourage publicity that support the events/progress of the IAFPD
Larry Brown - Maintenance and growth of current scholarship program via fundraising activities
