Fall 2004 Illinois Fire Protection Districts Referendum Recap

Of the more than 332 referenda, proposals submitted to the voters for the General Election held November 2, 2004, a total of 52 proposals
concerning fire protection districts appeared on the ballots across the state. According to the unofficial state records as of 12/14/04,
fire protection districts were successful in passing 33 of the proposed referenda, while 19 failed.

Below is a report of select referenda (those affecting fire protection districts) that were submitted to the voters for the General Election.

The data was obtained from election authorities and jurisdictional canvassing board abstracts. If you are aware of an initiative that
