    The NEW 2007 edition of A Handbook for Trustees of Illinois Fire Protection Districts has, like the preceding four editions, been prepared under the auspices of the IAFPD as a service to it's membership. As in prior editions, the goal of this publication is to provide trustees with a readable explanation of the laws which govern Fire Protection Districts in Illinois.     The Text of Laws Relating to Illinois Fire Protection Districts and State Fire Marshals is a compilation of those state laws which most directly apply to Illinois Fire Protection Districts, the Illinois Fire Service, and the Office of the State Fire Marshal. It is intended to bring together in one convenient book most of the laws which those persons involved with fire districts will need on a routine basis.
