| 2008 Administration
Training Sessions
IAFPD hits the road early each year, bringing regional training
sessions to its members around the state. Taught by Illinois attorneys who are
knowledgeable in fire district law, the purpose of the Administration Training
Sessions is to prepare both new and experienced fire districts officials to better
understand their duties, the timetable for performing those duties and the legal
requirements for the operation of a fire protection district. Changes in legislation
and legal requirements that affect fire districts in Illinois are also reviewed.
The 2008 dates/locations and registration form are now available in the Events Calendar.

IAFPD
Annual Conference - June 18-21, 2008 - Springfield, Illinois
Each year, the IAFPD Annual Conference brings together
more than 2,000 fire protection districts administrators and personnel to learn
about the latest rules and regulations, and trends and technology in administering
a fire protection district. Educational breakout sessions are offered
on administration, operations, and EMS topics in addition to a free legal clinic
where fire district officials can speak one-on-one with an attorney knowledgeable
in fire district law. This annual event also offers a three-day exposition, where
attendees can view products and services for the fire service.

Legislative
Day/Reception for 2008 - Springfield
In conjunction with sister organizations, the Illinois Northern
Alliance of Fire Protection Districts (NIAFPD) and the Illinois Fire Chiefs Association
(IFCA), IAFPD sponsors an annual Legislative Day where members can meet and discuss
current issues among the fire service with their Legislative Representative. This
event includes a working luncheon where members are briefed on current legislative
issues before heading for the Capitol to visit their Representatives from their
District. Legislators are invited to attend the annual reception in the evening
to once again meet and speak with their constituents about fire districts matters. Please check back for future announcements.
