| The
Illinois Association of Fire Protection Districts was established as a Not-For-Profit
organization in 1943 to protect the interests, rights and privileges of Fire Protection
Districts as they may be affected by legislative, administrative, or judicial
action.
The Illinois
Association of Fire Protection Districts offers two types of membership to the
organization.
-
Regular Membership is available
to all Illinois Fire Protection Districts in the state. Newly formed districts will receive free membership for the first year.
- Associate
Memberships are available to ambulance services and vendors who provide
services & products to the industry.
Regular
Membership Benefits: Information
and Guidance - The IAFPD
maintains a full-time office in Springfield for the purpose of assisting member
districts with problems and questions as they arise. In addition, IAFPD officials
have assisted many fire districts to organize and address specific regional matters.
Legal
Advice - The IAFPD retains the services of an attorney to assist member
districts with legal questions. The Association Counsel is a tremendous legal
resource for the attorneys serving member districts. Legislative
Representation - The IAFPD maintains a legislative staff which represents
the interests of member districts in the State Legislature. This includes the
introduction of legislation which is helpful to fire districts throughout the
State, and the monitoring of legislation and administrative rules which have an
effect on fire districts.
Annual Conference - The IAFPD holds an
annual conference for trustees, chiefs & attorneys offering seminars which address
the most current fire, EMS and legal issues as they relate to fire districts. The annual
conference also brings more than 80 exhibitors together with one of the largest
and most dynamic display of fire apparatus and services in the state.
Regional
Training - The IAFPD, in conjunction with the Illinois
Fire Service Institute, annually hosts "Administration Training Sessions" in
six locations throughout the State. These sessions are ideal for new trustees,
and also provide new information to veteran trustees..
Quarterly Publication
- The IAFPD publishes The Fire Call on a quarterly basis. The magazine provides
information, resources, legislation and other news of interest to Fire Protection
District's.
Publications - The IAFPD publishes two books
available to members: The Text of Laws Relating to Illinois Fire Protection Districts
and State Fire Marshal and A Handbook For Trustees of Illinois Fire Protection
Districts. Both are updated on a regular basis. Scholarship
Program - The IAFPD offers a $350.00 scholarship at 30 of the State's Community
Colleges to qualifying students in fire protection districts who enroll in a fire related
course. If

Associate
Memberships
Associate Memberships are available to those companies or persons dealing with
equipment and related products and services pertaining to the activities of fire
protection districts. As
an Associate Member, you will be placed on our mailing list to receive all publications
sent from the Association to our members including The Fire Call magazine, legislative
bulletins and other information to keep you up-to-date on developments concerning
fire districts.
The
association offers it's associate members the opportunity to attend and network
with other professionals in the fire service industry at seminars, workshops,

Associate
Members can advertise in The Fire Call Magazine at affordable rates. This is your
