Looking for a "Few Good Men and Women" The Illinois Association of Fire Protection Districts is in need of few good men or women to serve as Area Representative of the IAFPD. The duties of an Area Rep generally involve the following:
Area Representatives may receive calls or other communication from trustees, fire chiefs and other fire officials throughout the state with questions, suggestions, and or problems (challenges). The IAFPD asks that Area Representatives promote the activities of the association and serve as the first contact between fire districts and the IAFPD. Area Representatives are asked to become acquainted with local, regional and state legislative officials who may have an impact on fire district activities. An IAFPD Area Representatives acts as an ambassador of the association by attending meetings of local interest groups who are attempting to form new fire protection districts. The IAFPD does reimburse Area Representative's expenses as they occur and are approved. The qualifications for this position are as follows:
Interested persons willing to serve the Illinois Association of Fire Protection Districts that meet the above criteria will be interviewed by a committee designated by the IAFPD Board of Directors. Becoming an Area Representative for the IAFPD is another step to improving the quality of fire protection services in your home district as well as all districts in the State of Illinois.
