The Illinois Association of Fire Protection Districts monitors important legislation that may affect Illinois fire protection districts. The Association has and will continue to work diligently to maintain good working relationship with both sides of the aisle.

LEGISLATIVE REPORTS

The 96th Illinois General Assembly re-convenes in November for Veto Session. The legislative progress is regularly reported on the Home Page (Legislative Alerts) of the website or published in The Fire Call quarterly.

AFFLIATIONS

With our allied partners, strength in numbers creates a louder voice in Springfield.  IAFPD is an active member of the Illinois Fire Services Association and meets annually with 11 fire service organizations to develop a list of mutually agreed upon initiative to obtain support by the members of the Illinois Fire Caucus.

BLUE RIBBON COMMITTEE REPORT OF DECEMBER 2002

The original Blue Ribbon Report was released to the Governor and General Assembly in 2000.  Since the attacks on 9-11, the role of government and the fire service has changed dramatically.  This update is an agreed upon assembly of facts as it regards the Illinois Fire Service needs in the year 2002.
