A perfect time to get answers to the questions you have is in June. Whether you need to know the new rules with the Open Meetings Act, how to handle FOIA requests under the new laws or what policies are required for your fire district, the Annual Conference will have answers to these questions and so many more. Packed with 28 fire district related sessions, the program will also present all three parts of the Advance Trustee Training geared specifically for fire protection district trustees and approved training to fulfill the education requirement stated in Public Act 95-0799. Those who have completed the ATT program will have the opportunity to earn the 3-hours of continuing education also stated in the Act. The program offers 16 hours of pension board training that complies with the newest continued education training requirement mandated in Public Act 96-0429. Keynotes include Ed Enright (Chicago) as our opening keynote, Norvin Collins (Oregon) will talk about social networking and Eddy Weiss (Missouri) has expert advice on disaster preparedness. Simply stated, go to Peoria in June! The Pere Marquette has sold out, however three other hotels have discounted room blocks available for our conference attendees.
